Castledoor

"Let the rain fall, let it come on in. We're growing us a garden."

By now, you should have heard of this band a million times over. LA's Castledoor should be standard blog fare at this point. What's the hold up? They've gotten only a few mentions, which certainly isn't matched with what their music merits them. Punchy pop progressions and the band's jovial disposition make for indie-pop gold. I don't like to pigeonhole, especially when the indie-pop label is involved - it's just not up my alley. But Castledoor? They're different. They leave the foolishness and inanity behind opting instead for savvy, well-written pop songs. The band's new EP, Follow The Dove, can be found on iTunes. Do yourself a favor, yeah? I've included a new cut, as well as one their first demos, which is what made me fall in love with them over a good six months ago.

It is strange! Where is all the buzz for this gem of a band. I heard about them on Bands Under the Radar and fell for them instantly. That doesn't often happen to me. I usually need to be wooed by a new band or artist.

They seem to have the whole package--they're accessible and talented (how about that!) and quite funny. And to top it all off, their YouTube videos prove that they have a great live presence. They should definitely be feeling the love by now.

Its bizzare, I bought Follow The Dove EP about 6 or so months back and I figured that they would have made it big. Its so rare to see a band this talented that actually seems to have their act together. They also have some previous experience in the music business seeing as how they were in the boy band Plus One.... I really cant figure out what the hold up is...
